Taiwan Trip 19th Sept 12 to 26th Sept 12; Day 4: Longshan Temple, Hello Kitty Sweet, ZhongXiao FuXing, Wu Fen Pu, Raohe Night Market

Back to blog about my fourth day in Taiwan!

It was a Saturday and everywhere was crowded. It was a blardy hot day though its September!

Breakfast for Sissy and I!

Longshan Temple (龍山寺)

Sissy was still asleep when we left the hotel. I did ask her if she wants to join us in her sleep. She just carried on sleeping on. So Car and I went out on our own.

We took the MRT to the Longshan Temple station and with all the signs there, it was easy to find our way to the temple.

We were lucky to be able to see the followers of the temple collectively performing a ritual. As I was a Buddhist, I offered joss sticks as well.

One of the paths leading from the MRT to the temple

The famous snake alley near the temple! Lots of Chinese herbs on sale.

After we are done, I received a call from Sissy. Decided to meet her straight at our next destination.

Hello Kitty Sweet

We met at Zhongxiao Fu Xing and found our way there eventually. There is a minimum spending per head again. And this time it's NT$300. Thankfully for the research I have found, we called and booked! People who arrived shortly after the shop opened were turned away or told to reserve now and come back at night. Each table of diners were given 3 hours to finish their food. This is how popular the place is. I only think of the ka ching ka ching!

I heard that one is able to ask for a new set of the above disposable objects for souvenir. We didnt't do so though.

So, we merely ordered desserts since the main course were freaking expensive. For a meal in Taiwan.. Nonetheless, it was really filling. It's the power sweet stuff have.

The whole design and ambience... Way too cute right!

So, here's our food:

Everyone was first presented with an egg pudding. Yummy!

 This set is mine!
 This belongs to Sissy!
This belongs to Car!

Our drinks!
I got this hot strawberry milk. Didn't look as pretty as the rest :( The Hello Kitty powder sprinkled on top tasted sourish. Nice!

This is Car's. Same price but so much nicer.

Sissy's chilled chocolate milk.

Car couldn't finish her set. Then after that we went to camwhore in the toilet. Toilet is beautifully decorated according to the theme as well!

Then we paid the bill and left.

Our next stop was supposed to be Jay Chou's shop Omni which I found online. But there was nowhere in sight when we walked along that stretch over and over again. And the heat was killing us! We did spot Ahshin's Stay Real though.

Then we saw this shop. But there was absolutely no Jay Chou's posters. Selling men's clothes. So we left.

Next stop: Wu Fen Pu!

Wufen Pu (五分埔)

We took the MRT to Houshan Pi (後山埤).

Saw a long queue forming for this "老字號" and decided to buy one too! Didn't know how to read the last line first word hahha. I was thinking it's almond - xing(4) ren(1) but we weren't sure. I was so embarrassed to ask the seller what is it called. Sissy took the initiative. Since when has my sissy grown up to be so willing to ask. Since young, she was always the one taking the back seat. haha.

So, wu fen pu is really a shopping haven! Damn nice to shop can! They were changing season, and summer clothes have to be gone. So there was madness..Especially on a Saturday. Everyone was snapping frantically. And I don't know how many lanes there are. Seems endless. Feet were tired but mentally we were still cheered and energized by the sales we saw EVERYWHERE. Then Car couldn't take it. So we asked her to rest while both of us continued our shopping rampage.

We then tugged our loot to our next destination: Raohe Night Market!!!

Raohe Night Market (饒河夜市)

I have forgotten how we made our way walking entirely on foot from Wufen pu! Sissy was the one who brought us in the correct direction since she has been here before. So proud that for this entire Taiwan trip, all are done by public transport/foot! We did not take a cab once hehe.

OYSTERS!!!! I was totally like "let's sit down I wanna eat this!" when i set sight on this. Haha.

Sissy went down the lane to buy fried mushrooms for me while I ate the crabs cuz she knows I love them <3

And this cheesy potato is really good! We are able to choose 3 ingredients together with the potato hehe. Then the lady boss kept wanting to drive us away when we told her we do not mind waiting for the seats. Perhaps because there were only 3 of us, and we only bought a set; she doesn't want us to hog the seats.. But relatively bad customer service leh.

Another thing I like about Raohe Night Market is that there are shops at the sides of the food stalls selling clothes, bags and shoes! Damn nice to shop also! We really had a great buy that day. In Raohe, we mainly bought bags. It was like, I like this and I also like that leh.. How? Aiya take both la. And we do not feel the pinch when we buy. Cuz its really affordable :x Don't hike up the price ah Taiwanese. The price is better than Ximending's :)

We were really fully and couldn't eat much after all these..

We did not know how to get home..

Asked around and then I think we went to take another train similar to HSR but slower, back.. We went to Songshan Station if I'm not wrong.

Car's loot
It was truly a delightful day that day. I am so glad there were affordable clothes, shoes and bags as well as good food! Taiwan does seem better! Raohe is the best night market in Taipei!! haha.

More for the next day.

Signing off :)
